No vague from-prices
Some travel sites open with a tempting starting figure and explain the real cost later. We would rather not do that. A tailor-made trip is assembled from parts, and each part has a price, so you receive a quotation that lists accommodation, vehicle, guide and tickets rather than a single number that hides how it was reached.
That approach exists for a good reason. The same route can cost quite different amounts depending on when you travel and who is travelling with you, so a headline figure would be misleading for almost everyone who read it.
What changes the price
Several things move the total. The most noticeable is the number of travellers, because the vehicle and the guide are paid for once and then shared. Season, hotel grade, room type, the class of vehicle and the length of the trip all contribute as well, along with any special paperwork such as a Tibet permit.
- Number of travellers sharing the vehicle and guide.
- Season, with peak periods costing more than quiet months.
- Hotel grade and whether you take twin, double or single rooms.
- Vehicle type, number of days and any special requirements.
The effect of group size
Because the vehicle and guide are shared, the cost per person generally falls as the group grows. Two people sharing a room usually pay less each than one person travelling alone, and a group of four less again. If your budget is firm, tell us, and we will adjust hotel grade or vehicle type to fit rather than simply presenting a high figure.
When to just ask us
Send your dates and group size and we will reply with a day-by-day plan and a clear, itemised quotation, usually within one working day. If you then change the hotel grade or the vehicle, the quotation is updated to match.
