It depends what you compare it with
The honest answer is that the comparison changes depending on which group tour you have in mind. A private trip with your own vehicle and guide will cost more per person than a large coach tour built around shopping stops. Set against a comparable high-end group departure, it is often no more expensive, and sometimes less.
The reason the comparison trips people up is that the cheapest headline price rarely reflects the final cost. Low advertised fares are frequently recovered on the road, through optional extras, shop commissions or upgrades. Our approach is to quote the whole trip clearly from the start and keep it there.
What actually drives the price
A handful of factors move the figure more than anything else. The most significant is how many people share the cost, because the vehicle and the guide are paid for once and then divided between you. Beyond that, the season, the grade of hotel, the type of vehicle and the number of days all play their part.
- Group size, since car and guide costs are shared.
- Season, with peak months costing more.
- Hotel category and room type.
- Vehicle type, number of days and any special paperwork.
Lowering the cost per person
Because the vehicle and guide are shared, two people travelling together usually pay less per person than one person travelling alone, and a group of four less again. If budget matters, telling us early lets us adjust hotel category or vehicle type to bring the figure into range rather than simply quoting high.
When to just ask us
Prices depend on your dates, group size and the standard you want, so we cannot give a meaningful figure without them. Send those details and we will reply with a day-by-day plan and a clear quotation, usually within one working day.
