Who we are
China Custom Tours (chinacustomtours.hk) is the China-focused tailor-made travel site of the JoyoTour group, operated by Qinghai Youxuan Culture & Tourism Co., Ltd. Our guests come mainly from Hong Kong and Taiwan. Qinghai, Gansu and the Qinghai–Gansu Grand Loop are our home ground; we also cover Tibet, Xinjiang, Sichuan, Hunan, Guangxi, Beijing and Shanghai.
We do not sell fixed coach tours. Every itinerary starts from a blank page and is rebuilt around your dates, group size, energy levels and tastes.
Our story: it started in a small office in 1999
The JoyoTour team was founded in 1999 — one modest office and a handful of people who simply loved to travel. Twenty-seven years later we are still doing the same one thing: designing a route that genuinely belongs to the person travelling it.
What began as small-group deep travel now spans family trips, honeymoons, photography expeditions, business delegations, study tours and slower journeys for older travellers. The founding idea has not changed: a trip should not be an off-the-shelf product, but something cut to fit you.
150 itinerary specialists worldwide
Custom travel is a people business. JoyoTour has 150 full-time itinerary specialists across China, Southeast Asia, Japan and Korea, Europe, North America, the Middle East and Oceania. Average experience is over eight years, and many of them have lived in the places they design for.
Each specialist owns a region they genuinely know: which lane catches the best light and at what hour, which family kitchen beats the restaurants, and how to resequence a route when the rains arrive. A plan is never a line drawn between pins on a map — it comes out of repeated on-the-ground verification.
One traveller, start to finish, with one specialist. We believe a trip that has been properly listened to is a good trip.
One group, many entry points
To serve different languages and departure cities, JoyoTour runs several vertical tailor-made travel sites, each focused on a different destination and audience: some on inbound China travel and Chinese-culture routes, some on Southeast Asian islands and family holidays, some long-form depth trips for European and American guests, and some modular semi-independent combinations for do-it-yourself travellers.
These sites are not copies of one another — they are different doors into the same engine. Whichever door a client walks through, the same specialists, the same quality-control process and the same service commitment sit behind it. Brands can be layered; standards are not negotiable.
How we work
- Briefing — one thorough conversation covering budget, dates, fitness, food and expectations.
- Design — a first draft within three working days, revised until you are happy.
- Preparation — visas, flights, vehicles, guides and special experiences confirmed one by one, with a clear written itinerary.
- On the road — 7×24 Chinese-language emergency response, handled locally and immediately.
- Afterwards — a debrief and review, so the next trip is better than this one.
Why travel with us
We are not selling an itinerary, we are designing an experience. We compete on fit rather than on price. Given the same budget, we would rather spend it on one experience worth remembering than on a long list of photo stops.
All pricing is itemised — no hidden charges and no forced shopping. The pace leaves room to breathe; we do not fill every day with driving. We also travel responsibly: local guides and locally owned guesthouses first, so that the money stays in the destination community.
Twenty-seven years, more than 100,000 travellers, 150 specialists and countless routes refined again and again. The world is large. We will not decide for you what to look at — we will simply make sure you see it more deeply, more calmly, and more like yourself.

How we price
All-in quotations: vehicle, driver, guide, accommodation, listed admission tickets, fuel and tolls are included. International flights, domestic transport, meals and personal spending are not. We give a specific number rather than a vague 'from' price.
If you have a budget ceiling, tell us and we will design the most sensible version within it.
