Where we can meet you
We welcome guests at Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xining, Xi'an, Kunming, Urumqi and Lhasa, among other gateways. The idea is simple: you land where it suits your flights, and we are there. From the airport the next leg is arranged for you, whether that means a private car, a domestic flight or the high-speed rail.
Travellers often assume a China trip has to begin in Beijing or Shanghai. It does not. Starting in the west, for instance in Xining, can put you straight onto the plateau routes and save a long internal transfer at the beginning of the journey.
Choosing your gateway city
The gateway is usually set by your flights rather than chosen in the abstract, so start with whichever city your airline serves conveniently. What matters more is that your arrival and departure cities need not match. A trip that begins in Xining and ends in Xi'an, or lands in Chengdu and leaves from Beijing, is an ordinary shape for a tailor-made journey and is planned as one continuous route rather than two separate trips.
Once the gateway is settled we work out the internal legs. Where a high-speed rail line joins two cities we often use it, since it is quick and puts you in the centre of town; where it does not, a domestic flight or a private car fills the gap. If your arrival and departure points are close together, send us the times and we will fold the transfer into the plan rather than leave you to arrange it on the day.
Meeting you at the airport
On arrival your driver or guide meets you and takes you to your first hotel in a private vehicle used only by your group. We do not put strangers in the same car, and the driver and guide are two different people. For guests from Hong Kong we arrange a Cantonese-speaking guide; for guests from Taiwan, a Mandarin-speaking guide.
Other arrival points
If your flights land somewhere not on the list above, that is rarely a problem. We can arrange a transfer from most airports and high-speed rail stations provided we know the flight or train number and the arrival time in advance. Send those details and we will fit the transfer into your plan.

Wherever you start, the same consultant follows your trip on WhatsApp and is available daily from 09:00 to 21:00 Beijing time, with 7×24 emergency support. Tell us your gateway city and the dates, and we will plan the rest from there.
