High-speed rail is the easy answer
For Hong Kong travellers, rail is the simplest option by some distance. There are frequent departures from West Kowloon, the journey to Guilin takes roughly three and a half hours, and you avoid the airport transfers at both ends. With luggage the train is far less stressful than flying, and the station sits close enough to the city that the last leg is short.
You can also pair rail with a river cruise later in the trip, using the Li River boat between Guilin and Yangshuo, or a fast train, depending on how you want to spend the day. We work the transport around the itinerary rather than the other way round.
If you are arriving from Taiwan
Taiwan travellers can fly into Guilin Liangjiang Airport, or connect through Guangzhou or Xiamen and continue by rail into Guilin or Yangshuo. Where a connection would mean a long wait, we can route you through Guangzhou or Xiamen and put you on a train the same day, which keeps the waiting short.
Whichever gateway you use, we confirm numbers and luggage before we book the car, so the vehicle that meets you is the right size for the group.
Once you arrive
- A driver waiting with a name board at the airport or station.
- Group size and luggage count checked in advance.
- Guilin to Yangshuo by cruise, rail or private car, whichever suits the day.
- One consultant on WhatsApp for the whole trip.
What to watch out for
The mistake we see most is treating Guilin and Yangshuo as one place. They are close but distinct, and the transfer between them is part of the planning, not an afterthought. Leaving the choice of leg to the last minute can cost you a comfortable departure time.
When to just ask us
Give us your dates and group size and we will compare the rail, air and connecting options, then book tickets and arrange the pickups together. Timetables change through the year, so we always check the current service before we commit you to a plan.
