Why luggage is easier than you expect
On this route you travel by private car the whole way, so your bags stay with the vehicle and move when you move. There is no hauling suitcases through stations, no stairs to wrestle them down and no waiting for them to reappear.
That single detail changes the feel of the trip. You can leave the big case on board and carry only what you need for the day.
The one night to plan for
The night at Chuanzhusi is the exception. Rather than unpacking everything, pack a small overnight bag with a change of clothes and toiletries, and leave the rest in the car. It keeps the evening and the following morning simple.
- A small backpack for the park day, with water, a jacket and rain gear
- An overnight bag for Chuanzhusi, kept separate from the main luggage
- Tell us in advance if you are travelling with unusually large or numerous cases
- We match the vehicle to your group size and luggage so there is always room
What to watch out for
Very large groups or heavy luggage need a bigger vehicle, and that is a question of space rather than difficulty. Letting us know early means we assign the right car instead of improvising.
It also helps to keep valuables and documents in a day bag rather than in the main luggage, simply because that is the bag that stays with you.
How transfers and bags are handled
Because the same vehicle follows the whole route, your luggage moves with you rather than being left behind or re-packed at a station. When we change hotels the driver loads the bags while you check out, so the transfer takes nothing extra from the day.
We choose the vehicle to fit the group and the luggage you tell us about, so there is room for everyone without anybody holding a case on their lap. If you are travelling with more than the usual amount, mention it while we are planning and we will size the car accordingly.
When to just ask us
Tell us how many people are coming and roughly how much luggage there will be, and we will choose the vehicle accordingly. There is no charge for the consultation or the draft itinerary.
The same consultant follows the trip throughout, and the driver and guide are two different people, so there is always someone free to help with bags when you arrive.
