High-speed rail from West Kowloon

For most Hong Kong travellers the train is the simplest answer. A direct service from West Kowloon reaches Guilin in about three and a half hours, with a straightforward border process and no airport transfer at the far end.

We arrange the pickup at the station and join it to the first day, so you can start relaxing as soon as you step off.

Options for Taiwan travellers

From Taiwan, flying into Guilin Liangjiang Airport is usually the most direct route, and connecting through Guangzhou or Xiamen gives more departures and greater flexibility on timing.

  • High-speed rail is our first suggestion for Hong Kong guests
  • Taiwan guests can fly into Guilin or connect via Guangzhou or Xiamen
  • We provide the transfer at whichever end you arrive
  • A Cantonese-speaking guide can accompany Hong Kong guests, and a Mandarin-speaking guide Taiwan guests

What to watch out for

Rail tickets are in demand around weekends and public holidays, so it pays to fix your dates early. We keep an eye out and book as soon as the seats open, but we cannot create capacity that is not there.

Flight schedules also shift with the season, so it is worth treating any timetable as a guide until the booking is confirmed.

What is arranged once you arrive

Whichever way you travel in, the transfer at the station or airport is part of the trip rather than an extra. We meet you on arrival and join the pickup to the first day, so there is no gap between the platform and the hotel and no need to work out the local transport yourself.

From there a private vehicle carries you through Guilin and on to Yangshuo and the rice terraces. No other travellers share the car, the route is free of shopping stops, and the pace is set by your group rather than a timetable, so a long morning on the train does not turn into a rushed first afternoon.

When to just ask us

Tell us which city you are starting from and roughly when you want to travel, and we will compare rail with air and recommend the smoother option. There is no charge for the consultation or the draft itinerary.

From that first message to the last day, the same consultant handles your trip and stays reachable on WhatsApp.
